Therapeutic Services

We specialize in dual diagnosis interventions, as such, it is imperative to address the underlying mental health and family dynamics that are often the pre-cursers to drug and alcohol addiction.

“We cannot thank you enough for your expertise in helping us understand each other. Unlike other therapists, you provide REAL tools and exercises on how to practice listening to each other, loving each other through disagreements, and conflict resolution. We feel more connected and more in love than ever before and have so much hope for our future. I know I say this often, but you are truly THE BEST. This is what you were born to do.”

Individual Trauma Therapy

Phoenix Rising was built on the belief that in order to find and maintain true recovery one must drop into deep emotional and mental healing. More often than not, our clients are struggling with a mental health diagnosis and/or complex trauma in addition to substance abuse disorders. Our clinical team provides individual Trauma Focused Therapy (EMDR, Brainspotting), DBT, CBT and Solution Focused Therapy to help our clients as they navigate these new and often overwhelming experiences. Our hope is that we are able to guide our clients through the process of healing and building the emotional tolerance needed to sustain long term recovery.

Couples/Relational Repair Therapy

When our clients return home, they are often entering back into relationships that have been deeply affected by addiction. While treatment offers healing for our clients, the work of healing relationships begins at home. Our clinicians help couples repair, reconnect, and rebuild these relationships.

Family Systems Therapy

When a family reaches out to us on behalf of a loved one, it usually means the family is in crisis. Alcohol and drug dependency affects the entire family unit, not just the family member in need of immediate treatment. We recognize the value and importance of not only motivating the IP (Identified Patient) into treatment, but also supporting the family system from the onset ensuring that all members are given an opportunity to heal. Family System Therapy begins during our initial intervention assessment and often continues throughout the course of their loved one’s treatment (90 days-1 year). It is our belief that if the entire family has access to therapy there is a much stronger chance of ongoing healing and recovery when our clients return from treatment. We seek to guide each family member on their own personal journey of awareness, healing, and forgiveness while also teaching family members congruent communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain loving boundaries in preparation for their loved one’s return.

Support Groups

Phoenix Rising believes that healing happens in the context of relationships, which is why we offer groups to support those that are seeking ongoing recovery as well as offering relevant groups for families and loved ones. At Phoenix Rising our groups are led by both a Chemical Dependency Expert and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in order to provide a safe, positive experience. Our goal is to offer hope and support under the protection of complete anonymity. Whether you are interested in attending a group focused on individual recovery, a family/partner support group, or chemical dependency education group you will have an opportunity to connect to a community of peers who are experiencing similar feelings, fears and challenges. Our support groups offer a non-judgmental environment where you can be a student or a teacher, where everyone has the opportunity to speak and to be heard, to offer insight and gain new knowledge. In groups of like-minded peers, members have the opportunity to be of service to one another, strengthening their own recovery while guiding others to a similar place of balance.

Family Member Support and Process Group

The primary goal of this group is to provide a space for family members and loved ones to process their experiences, discuss fears, and find support from others that have been affected in similar ways. Our counselors will educate group members on the disease model of addiction, healthy coping skills, congruent communication, and effective boundary setting.

Rebuild and Recovery Support Group

The primary goal of this group is to provide a space for those in recovery to process and discuss relevant challenges that most addicts face as they attempt to rebuild their lives in recovery. These groups are not focused on any particular ideology, but rather an open forum for support and building community.
