The Importance of Working With a Professional Intervention Team

Safety is Phoenix Rising’s number one concern. It is imperative that the intervention team you hire has the appropriate education and experience to address both mental health and substance abuse disorders. This protects the client and their family during what can be a very difficult process. Our team includes a Licensed Trauma-Focused Therapist and a Certified Intervention Professional who are committed to supporting families throughout the entire process. We integrate traditional intervention methodologies with relevant family systems work in order to support the entire family from start to finish.

“Anthony was relentless in helping ALL of us navigate a plan to heal our hearts and relationships. Anthony had the ability to connect with my son when no one else could. Not only have both Anthony and Eryn continued to be there for my son, but for my entire family through the darkest days of our lives. They are, and will forever be family to us. I am eternally grateful for this incredible couple.”

Comprehensive Intervention Model

Phoenix Rising strongly believes that an intervention is just the beginning of the recovery journey. As healers striving to help our clients move through addiction, trauma, and mental health illness, we became acutely aware that something was missing. Despite our heartfelt desire to help our clients, our cumulative years of experience, education, and access to even the most comprehensive treatment programs offered we observed client after client fall into a cycle of detox-rehab-relapse. Placement is just the start of a successful Intervention. Addiction and recovery are as complex as the client is. Our experience has shown us that successful recovery is connected to continued Personalized Case Management where we are able to meet all of the individual’s needs upon discharge from treatment.

Components of an Intervention:

Education and Preparation/Family Sessions- The first step in any intervention is collecting relevant data. Following the initial call, Phoenix Rising schedules two family meetings with all potential members of the “intervention team.” These meetings create the foundation for a successful intervention. During the initial meeting our team collects history, assesses the client’s current mental health and chemical dependency, and educates the family on topics including the disease model, codependency, and boundary setting. During the second meeting we prepare the family for the intervention, identify roles and responsibilities, and determine the appropriate intervention model.

Intervention Model

Phoenix Rising determines the most appropriate intervention model to implement based on each family’s specific circumstances.

Appropriate Placement

Based on a detailed clinical assessment, our team performs extensive treatment facility research to ensure the most appropriate options for placement. It is our belief that most interventions involve co-occurring disorders (mental health/substance abuse) and it is imperative that the treatment facility meets all your loved ones needs for recovery.

Establish Safe Transport

Our team provides safe transportation to the treating facility when family or friends are unwilling or unable to do so.
